Imagex.exe Windows 8.1
Problem
I recieved a few new Dell TabletPC’s and I wanted to setup and create an image that I could deploy.
While this is a pretty basic task for a systemadministrator I have never gotten this to work properly.

Solution
I want to set up one of the TabletPC’s to my liking and create an image from it and deploy it to one of the other TabletPC’s to test the image.
Steps
- Microsoft Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM), ImageX's replacement, was released with Windows 8 as part of the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (WADK) and will be upgraded, not replaced, with the release of Windows 8.1. ImageX had been deprecated as of the release of Windows 8.
- Most of the advanced users are aware of the advantages of the ImageX tool in windows. The utility has been created to help professionals create system images (WIM) as well as modify it without.
- Preparing the image
- WinPE USB
- Create image
- Apply image
